In this book, in his chapter, “The Noble Savage,” Edward Lucie-Smith presented a color photograph by Jack Fritscher captioned as: “Jack Fritscher, photographer, (b. 1939), ‘Actual Bodybuilder, American Man’ (1989). The subject wears tight-fitting Lycra sportswear, boxing gloves, a helmet—and a padded crotch protector.”
